Not too long, I went from looking at my finances weekly to looking at my finances daily.
I take a single action or do a single bit of thinking each morning.
This can be simple -- this morning I closed an old business bank account that cost $9.99 per month in fees but which I wasn't using -- or it can be as complex as opening new retirement and brokerage accounts, researching securities to invest in, etc.
Sometimes this finance time takes a while. I looked at and calculated the rewards on all of my credit cards recently, realized that the Barclay Arrival card I have offers 2.2% rewards when used for travel and has no foreign exchange fee, and moved almost all my spending to it.
Sometimes it's much more simple, and I might just look at briefly at a category of expenses over the last month.
I also review payment dates and receivables from consulting work, play with cashflow, and update accounting records.
Really, it takes only a few minutes, but I feel much, much, much smarter about how precisely cashflow is going for me. I'm pretty organized anyways, but it's been a very worthy addition to my morning, and only takes a few minutes.
