If you want to level up your skills, change the world, and connect with amazing people at the same time, volunteer at GiveGetWin.
Hell, "volunteer" sounds all very old fashioned -- what you're going to be able to do is fast-paced, highly enjoyable, high impact, rapidly-skills-imparting stuff and be able to have as much personal responsibility, ability to experiment, and access to amazing people as you can handle.
Here's two roles we're explicitly looking for --
1. Recruiter
The heart of GiveGetWin is putting great people and companies together with those who are interested in what they’re doing. As a GGW Recruiter, you’ll use your social skills:
*Approach people by email, telephone, and introduction;
*Get meetings scheduled
*Navigate assistants and gatekeepers to get a meeting, if necessary
*Have productive, fun, enjoyable phone calls
*Ask great questions
*Understand what makes people tick
*Get people interested in participating in GGW
*Get people understanding the benefits to participating in GGW
*Advancing the conversation forwards to the next stage, where the person is hammering out the details of how they’ll participate and being interviewed
This role requires tenacity and persistence first and foremost. Good social skills are a bonus, but can absolutely be learned if you don’t have experience in that area. We’ll provide trainings based on proven methodologies, so your skills improve. You’ll get to participate in knowledge shares with other team members to keep growing and learning. You’ll get hands-on experience with one of life’s most important skills -- the ability to contact people that you don’t know well, and to have a productive collaboration with them. You’ll get credentials and the GGW team is happy to write reference letters detailing what skills you developed and what you hands-on results are. You’ll be making an immediate positive impact on the world, learning in the process, and having a fun time with some exceptional people who can go on to be friends, colleagues, mentors, and more going forwards.
2. Promotional Channel Builder / High Impact Marketing
There’s two aspects to GiveGetWin -- the providers, who donate their product or service, and the buyers, who receive excellent products and services in exchange for the funds they put up going to charity. By building new promotional channels, the reach of GGW grows which gets new people involved and makes participating more valuable for providers. As a GGW Marketer, you’ll:
*Develop promotional channels for the long-term, such as
--Public relations and media
--Creating great content that’s attractive to people
--Building networks of people who are excited to get unique content for GGW
--Approach institutions that would want excellent regular columns related to leaders and interesting concepts, such as Forbes
--Identify relevant trade journals, forums, and groups that would be interested in content specific to a particular GGW deal
--Develop more of a social media presence on Twitter and Facebook
--Start and help build a LinkedIn Group
--Interact with other LinkedIn groups
--Create interesting audio, visual, or other multimedia content like podcasts, videos, etc.
--Express the full range of your creativity, because the sky is the limit with promotional channels and marketing. We can do any value-add, interesting marketing that appeals to you and excites you.
This role requires creativity, experimentation, and followthrough -- and a desire to have a lot of fun building cool and interesting stuff. The sky really is the limit with marketing -- we’re about giving, getting, and winning -- so that everyone involved wins. There’s many opportunities to create interesting and great content that appeals to people, so that the companies and people donating their products/services to GGW get great exposure, people who are interested in the deals going up get to find them, and everyone who gets exposure to the content and message gets informed, entertained, has a really fun time.
You’re going to work with people who have some veteran experience, get access to interesting training and knowledge shares, and get hands-on training with the perfect mix of immense empowerment and great guidance from established people. You’ll get a ton of personal authority to undergo projects the way you want, along with resources and support to make it happen from very savvy and great people. Meanwhile, you’ll get hands-on experience in incredibly high-level marketing with tangible measurable results. This will absolutely build your credentials for future endeavors and employers, and the GGW team is happy to write reference letters detailing what skills you developed and what you hands-on results are. You’ll be making an immediate positive impact on the world, learning in the process, and having a fun time with some exceptional people who can go on to be friends, colleagues, mentors, and more going forwards.
