I'm really, really flattered to have one of my pieces appear in Lifehacker. Lifehacker always has such a depth of cool things happening on there, and it's a great place to go search for ideas on how to improve your life.
So I ask myself, what are people from Lifehacker going to enjoy checking out on the site?
Well, the "New? Start Here" page would be an okay place to start. But I haven't updated it with some of the successful recent articles.
How to Get a Raise was extremely popular.
Whilst talking about money and business, “We don’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 per day.” also spread like wildfire, though had a more controversial reaction - while most people liked How to Get a Raise, $10,000 per day was either loved or hated.
I've written a lot about time tracking and goals - if you're into tracking, you might consider, I've written a lot of pieces on that, the main ones being linked from "New? Start Here."
You probably got here after reading The Cognitive Costs to Doing Things. If you like that, you might enjoy the whole Thinking and Rationality category. "Defecting by Accident – A Flaw Common to Analytical People" was a popular one there.
Beyond that, what are we doing here? Well, my name's Sebastian, and nice to meet you. This is my site. For the longest time, I wanted a place that was very pro-winning, pro-achievement, pro-wealth, pro-accomplishment, pro-striving, pro-self-mastery, pro-self-perfection, etc, etc. Very focused on building more and doing more, but also a place with a lot of camaraderie and good connections.
See, I think far too much of the world is actually anti-excellence. Sure, everyone says they're pro-excellence, but when the rubber hits the road, they criticize and denigrate and otherwise try to put down people who are trying to achieve things.
I wanted a place where I could hang out with other people who want to build a lot, do a lot, serve a lot, get really wealthy, make the world a better place, really strive for mastery of self and mastery of the environment, but also a place that had a pretty warm and welcoming feel to it.
I couldn't quite find that place, so I set out to build it. That's what we're doing here.
Welcome aboard and glad you're here, and I hope you stick around. Also, please feel very welcome to use my site more interactively than most - instead of surfing passively, feel free to comment on any article - even older ones - since I read them all and reply to most. If anything piques your curiosity or you have a question, either comment or email me. I read and reply to pretty much all of my email, and try to be a lot friendlier and helpful than you'd normally expect out of people. So, drop me a line if I can help with anything or you've got questions.
Alright, here's to spending our time well, doing interesting and fascinating things, making lots of art, lots of money, making lots of great friends, having lots of adventures, building empires, and conquering North Korea. Stick around, I hope this becomes a home away from home for you.
